The Pacers started better, establishing an early 10-2 lead. Jeremy Smith, Jonathan Sonda, Jack Macdonald and Fred Hunter fought back for the Devils and tied the game up with three minutes remaining. The lead changed several times as a couple of baskets from Sonda were answered by three pointers from Pacers Lucas and Kaba. Garfirth scored as he was fouled and converted the bonus, giving the Pacers the lead, but a basket and two free throws from Hunter in the dying seconds gave the Devils a one point advantage at quarter time. Smith had eight points for the Devils, followed by Hunter and Sonda with six each.

The game remained close in the second quarter. Smith and Hunter were both causing trouble for the Pacers early on but up the other end Dunstan and Kaba landed three-pointers, keeping the Pacers in the game. Morda, Macdonald and Hughes took over late in the quarter and the Devils maintained a six-point lead at half time. Smith was again influential with
six points, two assists and two rebounds, Morda added five points and Hunter had four points and two rebounds.

Smith and Hunter dominated throughout the quarter, both ending up with double figure totals. A 10-2 Devils run through the middle stages earned them a double-digit lead which they wouldn’t give up for the rest of the game. A Sonda basket late in the quarter gave the Devils a 17-point lead at three-quarter time. Hunter (
11 points, two rebounds) and Smith (10 points, two assists, three rebounds) both had huge quarters and Sonda chipped with with seven points. Hughes contributed three assists and two rebounds.

The Pacers showed some fight early in the last quarter, with O’Keefe and Lucas combining for nine points as the home side cut the deficit to ten inside the first two minutes. The next few minutes were goal-for-goal but the Devils maintained their ascendancy, gradually increasing the lead and a Sonda free throw got them to the magical triple figures with a couple of minutes to go. The final margin was 19, a healthy 100-81 victory.
Smith had 10 points, Sonda put in eight points and two rebounds, and Hunter scored 6 points and added two assists and two rebounds.
