As well as being an aspiring sports journo, I'm also a pretty passionate stats guy. I just love the numbers involved with sport: scorelines, box scores etc. and what they can tell us about the game.
I've spent time as a statistician at the Port Melbourne and Werribee Football Clubs in the VFL, Portland Football Club in country Victoria and am currently the statistician for the Werribee Devils basketball club.
This year, as well as reviewing each round of the Premier B season, I've been keeping weekly stats in many different areas, including:
* Game margins
* Players used and goalkickers at each club
* Quarters won and goalless quarters by each club and opposition
* Score in each quarter: high/low/average for each club and opposition
* Wins and losses: high/low/average for each club
* Scoring accuracy: goals and behinds kicked in each quarter by club
